My work lies at the juncture of healing and creativity. As a music maker & artist, I aim to tell stories and build community through my singing, songwriting, art & community care work. I bring that Spirit to these products & hope they bring joy!
About the Patterns
pleasure & play in the present moment...
The process of making each pattern is truly therapeutic... Each free-hand shape is digitally cut & molded for a collage. I’ve taken a few graphic classes, but I’m primarily self-taught, and this method formed out of the pleasure of trial and error.
As the process grew, I wanted to experiment with different color ways so the patterns could change and take on new life. Offering some of my favs as limited edition runs makes the practice even more abundant & uniquely unique to those who get their hands on them...
I treat each one like a mandala, a meditative practice that brings me into the present moment... Without fail, each pattern I’ve done has given me space to express things I didn’t know I needed to and has taught me something about myself along the way… I want to bring that presence and a heavy emphasis on the Spirit of PLAY to each product I create…
The Story on the Symbol
More than a logo, this symbol is about expansion, growth, and how to heal. I started this new creative chapter while dealing with an immense amount of grief. It was the height of the pandemic, and I was struggling with how to relate to the outside world while coping with personal losses in my family. I came across Dr. Lois Tonkin’s concept of growth through grief, and it changed the game.
Long story short, people believe that over time, our grief shrinks…
When, in fact, we learn to grow around it. We know to expand.
I took the idea and ran with it.
The center represents that grief, the moments of struggle we all go through - while the outer ring represents our capacity to grow — all the space we make for new experiences. I was able to make room to expand through self-expression & and, above all, through the love of my support systems. The bottom line represents the community that keeps me grounded - the family & friends whom I’ll always be grateful for. The top line is for faith - the guidance from ancestors & angels and the magic of intuition and Spirit.
All elements combine to make an artist’s eye - an image that brings clarity and keeps me focused on moving forward.
Whether you look at the symbol as the centered eye or take time to appreciate all its expansive parts, let it be a sign to see the beauty in a new perspective, to keep growing in all directions, and to live life in all its multitudes…
